A Short Message To Get You Excited For Sunday’s Worship Service.
On Dry Land
Article By: Elijah Bell
Everyone needs freedom from something. We are all held captive and must be set free. It might be sin. It might be fear. It might be culture or cultural pressure. The things that hold us captive are whatever prevents us from doing God’s will and having faith in Him. But not only is God able to deliver us, He has promised to do so when we have faith in Him.
In Exodus 14 the Israelites needed to be set free from slavery in Egypt. The Egyptians were preventing them from being useful in God’s plan to bring about redemption through them, though not for long. God had plans. He confused the Egyptians, and made a way through the Red Sea on dry ground!
In a similar way, we often need to be set free from the things that prevent us from being useful to God’s plan to carry the Kingdom of Jesus to the world or even into our own hearts. The way is difficult and scary, but God can make a way. He will confuse and defeat the enemy. He will clear the path forward so we can cross over on dry land.
This Sunday, we will look at the crossing of the Red Sea, and notice three responses from three groups of people. First, the response of Pharaoh when he realized the people were no longer his slaves—Anger. Second, the response of the people when they saw Pharaoh’s army chasing them—Fear. Third, the response of God when the enemy got too close—Salvation! They didn’t even have to get their feet wet. What “Red Sea moments” are you facing right now, and how will God lead you through on DRY LAND?

Youth Ministry
Holly Hill is beginning a search for a Children and Youth Minister. The Evangelistic Committee (Scott Trent, David Jones, Tom Owens, Jeff Jones, or Robert Roach) need your suggestions and input. Please pray for this position and for our congregation and for the search committee that will be formed in the coming days.
Children’s Ministry
If you’d be willing to teach, sub, or help, please see Scott Trent. We have a wonderful opportunity to teach God’s Word to our children. Let’s make sure they get our very best! Thank you!
Greeting Card Ministry
Every Sunday there are cards spread out on a table in the auditorium, right in front of the nursery window, which will be sent out to various church members and guests who need encouragement. You can help serve and encourage by making sure to sign these cards each week. If you know someone who would benefit from receiving a card from the church, please provide the name and address to Joyce Best. We will have “Get Well” cards, “Thinking of You” cards, “Praying For You” cards, and “Sympathy” cards.
Shriners Children’s Hospital
Donna White is collecting soda can tabs to donate to the Shriners Children’s Hospital. Please leave your donations in the lobby.
