A Short Message To Get You Excited For Sunday’s Worship Service.

  • Live Like You Were Dying

    By: Jeff Jones

This Sunday morning, we are going to be looking at the bilateral nature of man, meaning we live simultaneously in two realms, the Physical and the Spiritual.

    The Dual Reality

    • The Physical Man: We possess a mortal body that requires food, shelter, and rest.

    • The Spiritual Man: We possess an immortal soul made in the image of God.

    • The Tension: These two natures constantly compete for our time, attention, and loyalty.

In the country music song recorded by Tim McGraw titled "Live Like You Were Dying" it tells the story of a man in his early forties who gets the news that his father has a life-threatening illness. The reaction was freedom. Freedom from anxiety, freedom from fear, freedom from worry ending with a chorus that exclaims "someday I hope that you get the chance, to live like you were dying".

We often Love Things and Use People when we should be Loving People and Using Things. This world is so loud it demands your attention; it takes all your time, effort and strength to satisfy your role in it.

This Sunday Morning we are going to look into the mirror of God's word and learn how to live with the urgent reality of our mortality, reordering our priorities for eternity. James 4:14 "yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes."

Join us this Sunday at 10:00 AM for Bible class and 11:00 AM as we worship God together, we hope to see you there!
