I Am The True Vine

“I Am The Vine; You Are The Branches. Whoever Abides In Me & I In Him, He It Is That Bears Much Fruit, For Apart From Me You Can Do Nothing.” John 15:5, ESV

A Short Message To Get You Excited For Sunday’s Worship Service.

I Am The True Vine

Remember back to when you were a kid and received an allowance, or as a parent, given an allowance to your own child. Something inevitably happens at some point: the kid who receives an allowance thinks the money is theirs that they have earned to use however they wish. Universally, the parents will assure them, "no, you'd have nothing if we didn't allow you to have it. That's why it's called an allowance!"

This silly and memorable illustration helps us think about how we are nothing without Jesus. In John 15:1-17, Jesus calls Himself the True Vine. We are the branches. He says in verse 5 that apart from Him, we can do nothing. When we are branches on the True Vine, we rely on Jesus. When we are branches on the True Vine, there will be evidence. And when we are branches on the True Vine, love and joy will be produced through Jesus' power in us.

This Sunday (10/19/25), we will look at all these things, and ask what it means to be on the True Vine, how we can get on the True Vine, and what happens to those who are, and those who are not. Please join us at 11:00 AM as we worship and study together! See you there!
