A Short Message To Get You Excited For Sunday’s Worship Service.

Many Gifts, One Spirit

Article By: Elijah Bell

When I used to work in retail, everyone in the store had a different job. Someone had to order the product. Someone had to receive the shipments. Someone had to unload the trucks. Someone had to organize the product for stocking. Someone had to take pallets to the warehouse. Someone had to stock the shelves. If everyone did the same job, the store would have to close down! It takes everyone working TOGETHER in order for the operation to be a success. It's only when everyone uses their unique skills, the whole team wins. It turns out, the church is a lot like that, too!

This Sunday, we're going to dive into this very idea with a sermon called "Many Gifts, One Spirit," based on 1 Corinthians chapter 12. We'll explore the core truth that God has given each of us different gifts and talents. Whether you're good at welcoming new people, organizing events, or even mowing the church lawn, your gift comes from the same Spirit and is essential for the whole church family.

We'll also talk about two big ways this core truth can be distorted. The first distortion seen in 1 Corinthians 12 is the feeling of "I'M not good enough," where we compare our gifts to others and feel like we don't measure up. The second distortion is the opposite problem: thinking, "YOU'RE not good enough," where we might look down on others because their role seems less important than ours. We'll see how the apostle Paul (by the Holy Spirit) corrects both of these distortions, showing us that every single person is a necessary and valuable part of the body.

The goal of all this is so that we can be a church that is united, cares for one another, and works together to fulfill God's plan. It all starts with recognizing the unique and wonderful way God has gifted each of us to contribute.

We would love for you to join us as we explore this together! Come for Bible class at 10 a.m. and stay for our worship service at 11 a.m. Hope to see you there!

The Sevierville Early Bird Deadline Is Less than Two Weeks Away!

Over the next couple of weeks, we will highlight some of the series you will be able to enjoy at this year’s Sevierville PTP. They are part of what makes PTP the week of spiritual growth that so many have enjoyed for several years.

To start: Studies in First Samuel - The textual lessons are a favorite part of the week for many at PTP, and it doesn’t get much better than Cliff Goodwin’s studies on books of the Bible. This year’s sessions on First Samuel will take a deep, careful look at the text, tracing the rise of Israel’s monarchy and the spiritual lessons woven throughout the narrative. With clarity and strong application, Cliff walks through the lives, decisions, and turning points that shape the book, helping listeners see both the big picture and the details that are often missed.

It is time to confirm plans for PTP Sevierville! Register by May 18 to receive the early-bird discount.
