American Cancer Society Relay for Life

Holly Hill Church of Christ is a local sponsor of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. The Relay for Life is an event held yearly in Franklin County to aid raising awareness and funding for the American Cancer Society in its quest to combat this dreaded decease.

The Relay lasts all throughout the evening and on until the next morning. Holly Hill has two "teams" for the Relay: The Youth Team, and the Adult Team. The members on each team voluntarily (in shifts of one hour) walk around the track to show support for the cause.

The evening climaxes with the lighting of the "luminary candles", at approximately midnight. At this time, the lights on the track are turned off, and the luminary candles are lit for a truly engaging moment. The small luminary candle bags line the track on the inside and have the names of both survivors and victims of cancer written on them in memorial.

Everyone from the church is encouraged to attend up until the lighting of the luminary candles (or even all night if you wish!). There will be fine fellowship, cooking out, and other activities to attend.
